The weirdest tours

If you want to experience something different, see a list of specified tours below, which unlikely could to be found in the commercial tourism. They are certainly different and more interesting than the currently available, "normal" tours.

"Demonstration tourism" (U.S.)
Sitting at the airport is not the best way to get involved in a protests. Because of that more and more tourists decide to visit some places in the United States where they can participate in protests for a few hours. All necessary information about where to go and how to engage in "action" exist on the Internet.

Socially awakened tourists.

Tourism of fear (U.S. and Canada)
Haunted houses are obviously outdated, and tourists are looking for something that will make them even more scared. Cruise based on a film franchise "Saw" will scared to death even those most fearless travelers.
Vision of powerful weapons threatens you at every step, and breaking everything around, could become a reality. "Awesome" ship departs from New York in August this year with movie cast on board. You'll have a chance to see the New Brunswick and New Scotia.

"Crossword" tourism (Caribbean)
Maybe this is more like a horror tourism, because you will be stuck on a ship with hundreds fans of crossword puzzles. Host tours will be recognized crossword guru Stan Newman, and will last ten days.
Not only will passengers be able to improve their skills in solving crosswords, but will be able to design their own crossword which be published in "Newsday".

Probably nerds with glasses, or retirees looking for a little action.

"Homeless" tourism (London)
It is one thing to see dazzling, romantic side of the city, and quite another to see it through the eyes of those who are rejected by the city. This tour was introduced last year as part of the London Fringe Festival, and offers the passengers an opportunity to see the other side of London, guided by a homeless person.
This is a great opportunity to experience the famous places such as London Bridge, Covent Garden and Mayfair through anecdotes of people living on the streets. Not only this tour will open your eyes, but also contribute to homeless guides earning some pound.

"Illegal emigration" (Mexico)
If you ever wondered what it would be to cross the border from Mexico to America, but illegal - you can  to find out now. Night hiking from EkoAlberta Parke, located in northwestern Mexico, offers "hope" to the participants, that will be able to move to America. In this program are also involved the border police and other refugees who will help tourist in this action.
Although, running away from the fake policemen could sound a little silly, this tour offers a serious message. "Being an immigrant is not a source of pride" it writes in one guide. "Grave" tourism (Worl Wide)
The graves of famous people are visited by the travellers for years and the most popular "eternal resting places" are John Fitzgerald Kennedy’s, Martin Luther King’s, Elvis Presley’s and Jim Morrison’s. However, the good thing of grave of tourism is that his source is endless. Michael Jackson`s grave is the latest popular place that draws crowds every day, to leave flowers, candles and silver gloves.

Passengers who want to pay their respects to the celebrities and crazy fans.

Viajará - Un amor tras las pisadas del pueblo rarámuri

“A Ortuño, Eric, Ángel y Josep.” Con estas palabras comienza Santiago Tejedor su querida Amara. Pero… ¿para alguien más? “…de pasar horas sentando en la piedra más alta de aquel alto cañón a miles (miles) de kilómetros de ti”. ¿A quién hace referencia ese “ti”? ¿Quién es esa persona? ¿Tal vez la misma a la que pregunta el porqué viaja? “Quedé en silencio. No contesté. No sabía qué decir. Nunca antes me lo había planteado. Pero tampoco por qué respiro.” Cada frase está llena de amor, o de sentimientos conectados con amor. Amor por la naturaleza, por la gente, por la escritura, por el silencio. Después de leer el libro, le ponemos a Santiago Tejedor un rostro nuevo. Ahora ya no es el chico que siempre lleva camisas bien planchadas. Y es que se puede entrever su personalidad romántica a través de Amara.

Este libro nos enseña como estudiantes de Periodismo de Viajes a poner en práctica la teoría de Luis Pastor. He aquí un pequeño curso de Filosofía Pastoriana: contraste, identificación, repetición, descubrimiento, sorpresa, claridad. Un párrafo – una idea. Utilizar palabras sencillas, que se entiendan. Y obedeciendo sus consejos nació Amara.

Hay una parte del libro que requiere mucho más que un artículo y mucho más que un par de líneas. Se trata de la parte de la Bitácora que se llama “Yo no quiero viajar”. Son razones, o precisamente condiciones para emprender un viaje. Santiago nos dice: “Este no es, ni quiere ser, un libro de viajes al uso.” Pero es “un manojo de razones para entender qué es, y por qué es tan importante… ser indio.” Sí, lo es, pero también es una guía para sus estudiantes y tal vez salvaje para aquellos que caminan veloces.
