Lluís Pastor is Lady Gaga?

Lady Gaga is provocative. Puts a steak on the top of her head and wears a dress of fresh meet. She is in the center of attention. During her performances she leaves the audience breathless. Lluís didn’t put the dress on, but he provokes anyway. He is not an ordinary professor. "Coño" and "joder" are very frequent words from his mouth. His behavior also shocks. He knows it. And he loves it. Advised us how we can learn that: "Simplicity. Short words. Short sentences.". Just like Lady Gaga’s songs. "Give the audience what they want. That should be your style." Just like Lady Gaga does. Panem et circenses. "You can be either simple or provocative. Simple is just simple. Provocative could be brilliant."

On the other hand we have Adele. Quiet, shy girl with beautiful voice. Without scandals and provocations. Just voice, scene light and microphone. And? She has the same number of fans as Lady Gaga. She has the same number of rewards as Lady Gaga. Therefore, we don’t have to provoke in order to be noticed
As the opposite of simplicity, according to Lluís, we have - complexity. As an example of that, he talks about Kant and his Critique of Pure Reason. But what about the Shakespeare, Dostoevsky, Mayakovsky, Dickens and Cervantes? In their works there are neither simplicity nor complexity. There is only art. Art is not for the masses. Never was and it’s not supposed to be. Therefore, we don’t have to be simple in order to be noticed.

If we form our style led by the wishes of audience, we may be at risk that quality criteria will go very low. There must be some standards, or all press will become yellow journalism, all movies - latinoamerican soaps, all music - Lady Gaga, all travels - Callejeros Viajeros.
You should never underestimate the reader. Task of one journalist is much more bigger than giving the audience what they want. Above all, he needs to teach them something. He should be a spokesman of his contemporaries, and be a critic of the time he lives in. So, learn by heart Tatjana’s letter to Onegin, read Hamlet, and take your loved one to the opera.
